Esquire’s online list of the “75 albums every man should own” is chock-full of baby-boomer Man “classics” like Pet Sounds and American Beauty (plus a few oddball Gen. X Man “classics” like Drive-By Truckers and quite a bit of rap, which is nice to see). That’s not surprising. What is surprising is that the only female solo work represented (that I can spot) is Exile in Guyville. I’m not complaining. Just…surprised.
